About

I received a BFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design in Web and Multimedia. While in school I had the privilege to travel to the Burren College of Art stay there for 4 months. This allowed me easy access to the rest of Europe and traveled to such places as Scotland, Germany, and Italy. My work has been shown in such exhibitions as Phase Shifts, Dear President “blank”, and the Spark Festival. In 2010 I was a Jerome-semi finalist, a recipient of the Northern Lights Fellowship and the Minnesota State Arts Board Grant.

My practice would best be described as multi-disciplinary, often rooting itself in many different disciples and is varied from project to project, finding the most appropriate form for the concept. I find that my projects often construct a situation where I must teach myself a new skill set, whether its learning a particular programming language, traditional photographic processes, or the inner workings of a television. Much of my work focus the hidden unconscious processes, specifically the kind that a sensory experience can produce. Sensory experiences can accurately seize on the processes that are recognized viscerally, but we may not have language for. With the use of new and old technologies I am motivated to create these experiences where the viewer is co-creator.
